Canberra and the South Coast
Our Summer Holidays in Canberra and along the NSW South Coast during the summer break of 2019 started out with an obligatory visit to the Questacon where both Xander and Eloise spent a few hours experiencing all they have to offer.
During our time in Canberra we also spent time at the Australian War Memorial and the Australian Mint and of course visited a few breweries along the way. Bentspoke Brewery is always a hit but I have got to say that Capital Brewing really impressed me with their outdoor area which had a great family vibe to it.
Throughout our time in Canberra it was fun to observe as Xander made the most use of one of his Xmas presents, a digital camera. So not only were we trying to capture photos as we always do but now we had some serious competition!
After a few days in Canberra catching up with everything we wanted to see it was time for a short drive down to the coast and the beautiful coastal town of Batemans Bay. We had organised with Cindy and J to stay with them in his holiday house which worked a treat and was very central to everything that we wanted to see and do.
During our time there we made a number of trips to the many lovely beaches on offer and again our favourite with the kids was once again Broulee beach (near the bridge) where the kids could play and not risk being washed away by the waves.
We also introduced the kids to fishing and while they at first were quite bored, they quickly became very interested when the first fish was caught. Only a small one however so we had to throw it back in the water at which time the kids were wondering why we were fishing if we were just going to return what we caught!
The remainder of our holiday was just as great with a few side trips to Narooma and other areas. We love this area and know that we will be coming back or many years to come!
