Our Legoland Malaysia Trip!
Before we started our oversea holiday, we knew that this leg of the trip would be by far the most anticipated by both Xander and Eloise and yes… they certainly got their hands full!
Whilst booking our tickets we found out that they offer a package deal that includes entry to not only Legoland but also to the waterpark and Sealife as well, plus you get two days entry for the price of one. With that in mind we looked for a hotel nearby and about 100 metres from the Legoland hotel we found a hotel that offered a two bedroom apartment for about a third of the price of the Legoland Hotel…. winning!
We left Phuket airport and flew into Singapore where we got into our pre-booked taxi that drove us for about an hour or so, across the border, to Malaysia and our hotel. The taxi was a bit more expensive than what a local bus would have cost us, but soooo worth it!
On arrival our kids were very exited to head to Legoland straight away however we told them that we weren’t going until the next morning. That night we tried to find an area with a ‘local’ Malaysian feel however, as we didn’t want to travel all the way into Johor Bahru centre we ended up just going to a local shopping centre in Bukit Indah where we got some dinner.
The next morning the made our way to the entrance of Legoland and without hassles, entered the park. Now, we had been told that the country was on holiday for Deepavali so we expected the place to be absolutely packed… it turned out that this was not going to be the case.
We pretty much had the park to ourselves for the first few hours of the day at which point both the kids and us rode a number of different rides and experiences. At some point in the early afternoon, the lines had started to fill up so we decided then to make it across to the waterpark where we spend the rest of the afternoon riding the different rides we could find.
That night we were all too tired to travel anywhere for dinner so we settled for the local ‘Mall of Medini” before returning back to the hotel and crashing!
The next morning, we did the same thing all over again… this time we again found ourselves having the park to ourselves and the kids rode a few new rides plus their favourite rides again. We ended up our day by visiting Sealife before heading back to the hotel and catching a taxi that afternoon back to Singapore.
Our visit in Malaysia this time was very brief however this was the initial plan and we found the amount of time allocated to be more that enough for what we wanted to experience.
